Lord, to know Thee as the Body

God's will can not be done by human efforts (Matthew 7:22-23). His will, which is His kingdom, can only be fulfilled through the Body of Christ. Christ is the Head; Christ is also the Body, who is the church, the extension and enlargement of the Head. Yes, Christ and the church, what a great mystery (Genesis 2:21-23, John 19:34, Ephesians 5:32)!

May the Lord renew our thinking and harmonize our feelings so that we would exercise our choosing to willingly choose His blessed will - the Body of Christ. Amen!

  1. Lord, to know Thee as the Body,
    Is my desperate need today,
    Oh, to see Thee in Thy members,
    'Tis for this I long and pray.
    No more just to know Thy headship
    In an individual way,
    But to see Thee incarnated,
    As the Body-Christ, I pray.

  2. Through the years, Thy saints have sought Thee,
    Longing for reality;
    Gazing upward, searching inward,
    Thirsting for the sight of Thee.
    Now reveal that Christ in heaven,
    Is the Body manifest;
    And the Christ who dwells within us
    As the Body is expressed.

  3. Prone to be misled, I know it,
    By my lofty thoughts of Thee,
    Easy 'tis for self to seek Thee,
    Yet not touch reality,
    Oh, how much I need to find Thee,
    In Thy members here below.
    God eternal dwells among us,
    Manifest in flesh to know.

  4. Limit, Lord, my independence,
    Let me to Thy Body turn;
    Not just seeking light from heaven,
    But the church's sense to learn.
    May we be the stones for building
    Not the formless, useless clay,
    Gain in us Thy heart's desire
    Corporately Thyself display.

My heart was far from You

Isaiah 6:5 - I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips.

Job 42:5-6 - I have heard of You by the hearing of the ears, but now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

My heart was far from You.
My worship was not true.
My lips were honoring Thee
But I was so empty.
Lord, help me! Have mercy!
Lord, now deliver me!
All else is vanity.
You are reality!

Traditions are a lie.
Mere practice can't satisfy.
No matter how hard you try
Inside you feel so dry.
Lord water me! I'm so thirsty!
I come to drink of Thee.
You are the Spirit of life
To free me from all strive.

The doctrines and the creeds
Have never met my needs.
The letters have killed me dead
My need is Living Bread.
Lord, feed me! I'm so hungry!
I come to eat of Thee.
Your Person now I can take.
The Living Word partake.

I need You desperately
To get You into me!
I drink You as the Spirit, Lord,
And eat You in the Word.
I'm satisfied! And You're testified!
There is no lack in Thee.
You are the river and the tree,
My feast eternally.

Oh, sanctify us, Lord!

You therefore shall be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Mathew 5:48)

Be full of compassion, even as your Father also is full of compassion. (Luke 6:36)

...We know that if He is manifested, we will be like Him because we will see Him even as He is. (1 John 3:2)

Pray according to God's intention. (Don't pray according to your idea.) Pray so that God will make us the same as He is. Pray so that God will gain His many sons as God's glorious expression - the church.

1. Oh, sanctify us, Lord; now add Thyself to us,
In our experience, Thy Person spread in us,
That in reality the church be glorious,
O Lord, do add Thyself, we pray.
* Oh, sanctify us, Lord, today;
Lord Jesus, You're the only way.
We take Your Person, Lord;
Oh, spread Yourself abroad.
Oh, sanctify us, Lord, today.

3. O Lord, do nourish us; You are the food we need;
As we are eating You, we'll be transformed indeed;
We're fully satisfied as on Yourself we feed,
So nourish us, O Lord, we pray.
* O Lord, do nourish us today
As all our self You wash away.
Not only purify,
But fill and satisfy;
O Lord, do nourish us today.

5. Lord, make us glorious, by all Your inner work,
Not glory for ourselves, but glory for the church;
That You may have Your Bride, thus ending all Your search.
O Lord, do work on us, we pray.
* O Lord, do work on us today!
To form the church Your glorious way.
Oh, spread Yourself in us
Till we are glorious;
Oh, make us glorious, Lord, today.

Dear Lord Jesus, Thou'rt my best love,
Thou hast fully captured my heart;
None in heaven nor on earth is like Thee,
With Thy beauty none can compete.
When Thy voice first came to my ears,
To my heart entered words most dear;
All past loves and seekings decreased for Thee,
All my boasts have now disappeared.

    • Who'd compare with Thee, so fair and comely?
      Who'd compare with Thee, so sweet and lovely?
      Only Thou art worthy my love to win,
      O Lord Jesus, How I love Thee!

      No more I who live, No more self-deceit,
      No more in the self-world indulged to be,
      Deeply now I know only Thou'rt my love,
      My best love is none else but Thee!

我深知祢是我惟一所愛
http://www.hymnal.net/hymn.php/ns/351c

主耶穌祢是我至愛,祢奪取了我這顆心,
天地間無何可與祢比擬,祢全然美麗無可比。
當祢聲音給我聽見,柔聲細語在我心中;
前所愛、所求,都因祢消減,我所誇的今都成空。

(副)
世間有誰像祢如此美麗?世間有誰像祢如此甜蜜?
只有祢是配來得著我愛,主耶穌我深深愛祢!
不再照己意不願再受欺,不願再沉迷於己的天地;
我深知惟有祢是我所愛,我惟一的最愛是祢。

Best love for the Lord

  • Loving You, Lord's all I'm living for;
    Loving You, Lord, to the uttermost.
    Lord, forgive me if I've left my first love,
    That's the bridal love to You.
    You are more than any one I love.
    You are more than anything I have,
    Even my dear self; nothing can compare
    To my beloved Bridegroom.
    • I give You the first place in all things by faith.
      Let nothing take Your place in all my heart.
      Infuse me with Yourself abundantly
      'Til we meet, dear Lord.
      I'll love You with the best love.
